“God loves you. Rest in that. You were created with your personality for a reason. There is only one you. The most powerful thing you can do in life is to enjoy who you are, love yourself and love others. By loving others you are loving Jesus”

A Love Letter on Your Heart Daily

image

Christ wants to dwell in your heart. Your earthly residence. Your connecter between Spirit and natural. Between the things seen and things unseen. He wants to have a home in your heart.

eph3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

I was wondering what it meant that Christ should dwell in our hearts, since He already has full unity with us.

1 cor 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

I think that as we agree with who we are, the acknowledgement becomes a reality in our hearts. Meaning that if you believe the truth about your position in Christ, you will experience the reality of it in the natural.

The word of God tells us who we are. And when we see who we are, by looking into the perfect law of liberty, our faith becomes effectual.

gal5:For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

gal6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

See the connection between both verses? Faith working by love is equal to being a new creature (in Christ). Philemon goes on about this:

phile1:That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

Faith works by love: when we realize the new creation we are in Christ; when we acknowledge every good thing that is in us in Christ Jesus.

1 jo 4:17 a.) Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment:

definition of (our) love made perfect:

b.) because as he is, so are we in this world

We find out who we are by beholding Him and in the same way we are transformed from glory to glory. It’s effortless transformation, from a state of being and beholding who you are. You don’t change to being something, but are transformed from who you are to who you are by looking at the One who is you. Your are in Christ and because of that you are the brightness of His glory. When you behold His brightness you behold your brightness. Everything that’s in you is in Him.

2 cor 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

We are beholding in a glass the glory of the Lord. Effortless transformation comes by looking into the image of His glory. By looking into the word of God and see Christ.

We see the love of God, by seeing the grace and truth He poured out in us in Christ. We see the love of God, by acknowledging the life He gave us.

Agree with who you are. A new creation in Christ.

You can let God solve all the issues in your heart over time, or you can agree with who you are in Christ and let your new creation nature manifest in your heart and wash all else away. But it takes time for your heart to acknowledge who you are.

jam1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

This is often a problem. We look for a moment and then forget who we are. A doer of the word: one who looks continually, will be blessed in his deed. When you keep beholding who you are in His eyes, you will actually start believing it, instead of letting the unbelief of the world wash over it.

mat13:20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.

It’s something that needs to be firmly established in your heart, or it will quickly fade away: like writing letters in the sand on a beach. When the tide rises, the waves will wash away what was written.

eph3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

You need to be continually reminded of who you are. It’s something God needs to write on your heart every day. And the more you allow Him to, the more that this truth will start taking over your life. It will become a true part of you - your heart. All God really cares about is your heart. That is the only place He can influence you from and reach the world through you. It’s where He wants His love to dwell and made manifest. For out of your heart are all the sources of (Christ’s) life (prov4:23).

What you lack in your heart, you’ll always going to try to build it in the physical.

Truth & Love

Ignorance and lack of knowledge brings bondage and causes destruction.

hos4:My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

We can be alienated from the life of God through ignorance of truth:

eph4:18 Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart

A blind heart is ignorant to the truth and darkens the understanding. It causes you to be alienated from the life of God. Wrong thinking leads to a mind clouded by fear - a fearful expectation of judgment.

rom8:For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

A blind heart is a guilty heart. A heart with an expectation of wrath.

prov11:23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

A wicked heart is a heart that does not believe in God’s goodness. A heart of which the understanding (eyes) is not enlightened to the truth: the love of Christ. It’s a heart with an evil conscience toward God and an expectation of wrath:

heb10:22 Let us all come forward and draw near with true (honest and sincere) hearts in unqualified assurance and absolute conviction engendered by faith (by that leaning of the entire human personality on God in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure water.

Fear (of death) brings bondage.

heb2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

God is love and in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, so in Christ dwells all the fullness of love. You’re complete in Christ, so all the fullness of Gods love dwells in you. As He is so are you in this world. You are in the bosom of the Father (joh1:18). There is no fear in love (1 joh 4:18), so there is no fear in you. Fear is a lie. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Christ is truth and whom the Son sets free will be free indeed. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.

Love sets free. There is no fear in love. To know the truth is to know His love, because He is love. God is love and God is truth, so truth is love. The truth is revealed in the love of Christ.

joh8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

eph3: 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

2 cor 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Freedom is to have been made perfect in love (1 joh 4:18; 2 cor 3:17). In the fullness and presence of God there is perfect love, because He is full of love and love casts out fear. Realizing your union with Christ causes you to live free from fear, because where His fullness is there is liberty. You’ve been given the fullness of God in Christ, because you are complete in Him (col2:9-10).

It’s the freedom of fear, for perfect love casts out fear. Fear brings bondage; living free from fear is living in the freedom wherewith Christ has set us free (gal5:1). Christ came to set us free from the fear of death and to make us perfect in the love of God. This is what He has accomplished at the cross. That we might have an eternal salvation, a confident expectation of good (heb11:1), a quietness and assurance forever through the righteousness we have in Christ (isa32:17). This is the hope the apostles were talking about:

2 cor 3:12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:

heb6:19 NASB This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast [..]

What is this hope? It’s Christ in us, the hope of glory!!!

col1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

Christ is our assurance of glory!

heb11:1 NIV Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

John 8:32

32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

1 John 4:18

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

John 1:18

18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

1 John 4:17

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Hebrews 2:15

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

2 Corinthians 3:17

17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

I was assured in advance of my Lord’s abiding presence; He is right beside me to keep me from being knocked out. That’s why my heart sings out and my tongue shouts for joy. And even more, my whole body will be vibrant with hope; Because you will not abandon my life to the grave, Nor give your “divine spark” to the despair of death. You have let me in on life’s secrets: With your presence you will make me unspeakably happy.

Your life will move in the direction of your most dominant thoughts.

When you tell that to a Christian it’s important to have self-confidence they usually think you have went a bit nuts. It’s because of all the religious doctrine and wrong self-image. Self is no longer you, it’s Christ in you (gal2:20). He placed His life inside of us! Law is like a puppet-master play. You have to act according to how the master says. It’s enforced behavior. Not from out of the heart. God doesn’t care about changing your behavior but about changing your heart. Freedom is meant that you live and act from within (joh7:38). I feel a kind of anointing as I write this part. That’s why grace is like a spontaneous dance ;-) It’s not the enforced rhythms of behavior, but the unforced rhythms of grace (mat11:28-30 MSG)

The safest place to store truth is in your heart.

We’re lovers of Your presence.
We’re lovers of Your presence.
We’re lovers of Your presence.
It’s all we want to be.

eph5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord

col3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

eph5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

col3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Hope fills my soul, and the love that youʼve shown
Brings refreshing like the rain
Peace floods my heart, Iʼve known nothing apart
Apart from Your goodness God

Glorious by Bryan & Katie Torwalt

The cry of the human heart, is to know the truth of God’s love. To the degree that you do not know God’s love, to that degree you define dysfunction. To that degree you define rejection. And all the approval that man can give you to try to cheer you up is not sufficient to bring your heart back into an integrity of sanity and adjustment. You were created to experience God’s glory. You can’t even come into wholeness through hearing preaching. You have to experience God’s manifest glory, His literal life that follows the truth of righteousness.

—Rob Rufus

If the work is not motivated by love, it’s motivated from out of fear of punishment, and that is an old covenant motivation. Trying to keep the law is not of faith and whatsoever is not of faith is sin! God doesn’t look at the action but at the motivation. He doesn’t look at the outward appearance like religion does, but at the heart of it. The motivation is of greater value to Him than the action. That’s why He wants you to be rooted and grounded in love and live from out of that soil of intimacy and relationship with Him and have your good works (which are actually His) come out of that as a fruit.

  • gal3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
  • rom14:23 whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
  • rom8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
  • 1 joh 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
  • eph3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
