mat6:33 ESV But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
—
You know what the kingdom of God is? Relationship! It’s not some mystical thing out there. It’s relationship. And if you have intimate relationship with God, then all these other things that you want from Him, they just follow you.
—Arthur Meintjes
You do not change by something you do. You change by what you behold. You become like the thing you look at. The more you look at, concentrate and focus on the glory of God, the goodness, kindness, mercy and love of God. Then you are changed into the same image.
—Arthur Meintjes
You gotta love God more!” That’s a lie! You need to find out how much God loves you. That’s the truth. Then you say to me “but Arthur, surely I’ve got to love God”. I know. The problem is: If you’re looking to love God. If you’re looking to try and pluck your socks and say “today I’m gonna love God more.” Let me tell you something. Then you will find out you can’t. You find out you don’t have it. Now you can fool others. You can come to church or you can come here to bible school and in praise and worship go “Oh I love You Jesus”. You can put on the tears. But let me tell you now, if your whole motive is: I wanna love God more and I’m going to love God more, I can tell you right now STOP IT, you can’t do it. But if you come and say “I’m gonna find out how much God loves me. I’m going to allow God then. Not only am I going to find out how much God loves me, but I’m going to allow Him to love me just the way I am. And I’m going to allow His love to influence me. And when you do that loving God becomes no problem. Loving God is something that flows right out of your inner-most being, because you can never give something you don’t have. You first have to let Him love you. And your focus is on how much He loves you. You see, the moment you focus on: I must love God more, you’re stepping into the flesh. And then he says you’re being foolish (gal3:3). Stand fast therefore in the liberty with which Christ has made us free (gal5:1). Being in a place where I serve God, not because I owe Him. Not because it’s expected of me. Not because it’s demanded of me. I do what I do, because He loves me. I tell you guys it’s a subtle change, but if you can make that change - I like what Andrew says - you will start living better by accident, then you ever did on purpose. Amen.
—Arthur Meintjes - Eternal Forgiveness pt.3
“So off the guy goes to the gym, so he can build muscles to push his car. You realize how dumb this is!? And the only thing that’s the matter is there’s no petrol in the car.. There’s no petrol in the car. The bible says we run on love. Your life runs on love. Unless you get established on the love of God and allow Him to love you everyday just as you are, you are going to get to a place where your petrol runs out and then your Christian life becomes a drag.”
How many of you can say: I just want to get back to where my Christian life is not a big drag. But that my Christian life just runs by itself, when I use that power steering it works!

jud1:20But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 20 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.
God wants you to have the strength to be able to coop with life. Because He came to give you life. And if you don’t have strength you can’t coop with life, because with life comes challenges. And most Christians are so worn-out, working for God, that when the challenges of life come they can’t stand against it. They can’t come and coop with it, they can’t overcome.
- Arthur Meintjes
God’s rest is your strength. Rest in God. Rest in His love, provision, His work, His wisdom for whatever challenges in life you face.
phil4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
3 keys for entering into rest:
44.59 recording fault, part cut out :(
It’s when we refuse that what God is doing in our lives right now is because He wants to be good to me, that we keep ourselves from entering into rest. (heb3:18)
Prayer:
This year, it’s the year for me to say ‘Lord, I’m entering into your rest’. I’m going to trust that you’re a good God. And no matter what happens around me, even as that scripture says in Isaiah, even as the mountains and hills are removed, know that My mercy, know that My kindness will not depart from thee. Even if everything around me is crumbling, I’m going to enter into that rest and say Lord I know, even when everything around me is crumbling. I’m in the rest of knowing that you are good to me.

Christians are always trying to love others, but not allowing God to love them.
—Arthur Meintjes
Most of the church is seeking the power of God and bring in things that look like the power of God, but it’s not. Because we’re seeking the power of God without seeking the Father. We want what is in the hands of the Father instead of wanting the Father. If you get to know the Father, you get what’s in His hands. What we do in the church is we teach all sorts of teachings of how to prise open the hands of God and get what you want. What happens if you get to know the Father: (you find out) His hand’s open. Most people see the Father as holding back the blessing and you have to plead the blood. God do it in Jesus’ name! Do it in Jesus’ name! We’re trying to put this crowbar in the hand of God to get His hand to open, but His hand is open!

prov4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
rom4:16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all
Grace is God’s ability given to us so we can change in the areas we know we can’t change. By grace, not of your own works. The promise might be ensured to all who received. Not only to what is of the law, but what is of the faith of Abraham. When we believe in Jesus Christ, we become the children of Abraham, because we believe like Him.
rom4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. 18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. 19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb: 20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; 21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Father God we come before you this morning. You’ve given every man the measure of faith. Your word is sharper than any two-edged sword. It is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. We know the enemy is already judged. Father you have attained righteousness for us. We come in your presence right now. Lord Jesus be the teacher through the Holy Spirit. Lead and guide us into all truth and every heart be receptive. In Jesus’ name.
Allow the Holy Spirit to teach you. I cannot teach to you truth. The Holy Spirit has to minister.
God wanted Abraham’s heart to be fully persuaded. To persuade your heart is to for ever keep the promises of God before your heart. To remind yourself. Every time he looked at the stars, heard his name: he remembered the promise. When he called his wife. The promises of God were ever present with him. That’s how he got fully persuaded. You are not going to get fully persuaded by listening once a week on a Sunday morning. Your heart will never get persuaded who God is and who you are because you come to church once a week. We feed our bodies 3 hot meals a day. Our spirits or hearts get one cold meal a week and we wonder why our lives are such a mess. This is a principle every Christian must learn and practice.
prov4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Attend. That word is like a gardener that looks after a garden. His hand is all the time on the plants. All the time looking, digging. You need to persuade your heart. If there are areas in your life where your heart is being influenced negatively you better start persuading it with the word of God.
prov2:1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness
You need to apply yourself to the word of God to understand righteousness.
prov23:7 For as he thinketh[gatekeeper] in his heart, so is he
Thoughts are the gatekeeper of your heart. What you spend your time thinking about is what’s going to fill your heart. A doorkeeper is what will decide what comes in your heart and what stays out. Your thoughts are very important. It’s a terrible thing if your thought-life can’t be controlled.
phil4: 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
A heart that is full of worries is a heart that is opened itself to negative influence. If you will not allow your heart to be worried about anything and leave it with God believing He will do it, He says then the peace of God will garrison, protect and keep your heart through Christ Jesus. Don’t allow yourself to be worried about anything. Make prayer with thanksgiving: because He’s already made a way.
The peace of God will guard your heart.
phil4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
When you’ve got things, mountains you have to overcome. Don’t worry about it, come before the Lord, leave it to Him and start thinking about good things. Things that are lovely. God knows that a positive attitude is what’s going to bring you through, not a negative attitude.
Change is not change unless it’s at a heart level.
We’ve all been on some kind of diet on some stage. How many of you have lost weight because of it? Have gained it again? How many have started and stopped half-way. You can coop your eating habits, discipline your life to lose weight. You start off and you lose weight. Somewhere along the line you break it. The reason why is just because you are on a diet isn’t because you have changed. If you want to lose weight and have weight loss you must change your eating habits from the heart. I’m going to wake up every day at 5 o’clock to spend time with God. How many of you did it for a while? How many of you failed? Unless you have a heart to spend time with God, then your heart will motivate to do it. Some of you have a stronger will and might be able to do this from the outside longer and with more success than others. But what happens when you won’t do it and you’ll disappoint yourself and brake that habit. You do things because you like it. You do things because you like it and it comes from the heart. It is a heart-attitude. If we can get a heart for God, then if you wake up one morning too late you are not going to feel condemned. It’s not some law that you are applying from the outside. It’s got to be a heart-thing. If your heart is not changed you better start disciplining your life on the outside. Start persuading your heart. Most important aspect of persuading the heart and accepting and calling those things that be not as they were.. the thing that destroys us is the principle of ‘becoming’ taught by religion. That will destroy your life as a Christian. The principle of trying to become ~ righteous, holy, healed. The bible teaches us we already are! Righteous, holy, healed. The whole thing is not trying to be healed, holy, it is accepting what God has already done.
2 cor 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
You are not going to become, you are made the righteousness of God in Christ! You are as holy as you are ever going to be! We’ve got to persuade our hearts of this. Just because you say I’m trying to be healed, you are conveying a message to your heart that you are not healed. I’m trying to be holy: you are conveying a message to your heart that you are not righteous. rom6: you are already crucified, already dead to sin and sin shall have no dominion over you. Our hearts need to be fully persuaded of that truth. When you say “Lord bless us” you are saying you are not blessed. eph1:3 How do you bring the spiritual things of God into our lives? It is by believing that you bring it to pass.
We have come to a place where our hearts are not persuaded. Reading this particular story about David: No matter how bad your situation might be, or the problems in your life. If you will persuade yourself in God, nothing is impossible.
1 sam 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
Those Amalekites were the kind of people known to rape women, cut the bellies open of pregnant woman and smashing babies’ heads on stones. The word encourage means to persuade, to cease, to cure. His heart was persuaded, but all of a sudden his heart became polluted, but it says he cured/helped repair/fortified his heart. Then he said to the priest. If he did not persuade himself he’d lost everything. If he wouldn’t have he’d lost everything. Because he did he tracked them, defeated them and none of the woman and children were touched.
We need to persuade our hearts. There’s a confession of a person persuading his heart. Then there’s a confession of a persuaded heart. That’s got power. When your heart is established. David, once he had encouraged himself in the Lord, He said to His man, let’s go after them and get them back unharmed.
We don’t need to be persuaded, but fully persuaded that what God has promised He’s fully able to do.
Remind yourself what God has already done in your life. Part of persuading your heart it is to believe what God has already done. Look what you’ve trusted God for and has come true. That means God will work in your life. God has given you promises that for as far as God is concerned it’s done. When you persuade your heart that it’s done, you will release the zoe life of God in us. The hardness of our heart, the unbelief, believing something not true, separates us from the life of God. There’s nothing in this world you face that God hasn’t given you a promise for.
heb4:14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. 15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Jesus has already DONE the work.
Find the scripture, confess it, stand on it, see how it will be when the scripture comes to pass, see yourself that way, see your situation that way. Use your imagination and it’ll start coming to pass.
Guilt can destroy your total concept of who God is. One of the most dangerous emotions. Another emotion is shame.
rom10:11 As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”
Some are taught that when they come to heaven God will show everyone your sins and you’ll be ashamed. Even our children, we must never make them ashamed. A little boy who caused to wet the bed. One day a friend said, tell on a day where there is company that he wets his bed, so he’ll stop what he is doing. Those emotions through our soul can have access in our hearts. Woman who’ve been raped, because of the emotional impact on the soul, their hearts get totally bent out of shape. Years of counseling, but the impact and violation that it caused in their hearts, we’ve got to protect our hearts from negative input, negative emotions. What you see can affect your heart. Words. You cannot allow yourself to sit and watch tv and garbage and think that you’re not going to be affected by it. You think that what you listen or watch doesn’t affect you, but it does! It’s amazing to find out what’s in your heart. How can we protect our hearts? What must we do to protect our hearts?
prov16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
AMP By mercy and love, truth and fidelity [to God and man—not by sacrificial offerings], iniquity is purged out of the heart, and by the reverent, worshipful fear of the Lord men depart from and avoid evil.
How do I protect my heart? This is an important scripture. We need to know how to purge our hearts. A powerful tool is when God shows His mercy. To meditate on the mercy on God.
rom2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
When you start to read the bible and see God is a good God, you see His mercy and start to realize His mercy is beyond anything you’ve ever done. God’s mercies are new every morning. That means every morning you wake up God’s mercy has covered everything and invalid everything and His mercies start again this morning.
And not only the mercy but the other part says His love. Jesus came into this world, to a corrupt generation that didn’t even want to know God:
rom3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
In that circumstance God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.
Truth, when we don’t allow truth to speak to us we justify our own devices. Many times when God speaks truth to us, we don’t want to hear it, because sometimes it hurts. If you allow it to minister to you you’ll change. The beginning of purging your heart and protecting your heart is exposing yourself to who God really is. Peace is one of the things that protects your heart. Unless you and I expose yourself Only when we regard God. Not a fear, but reverence. That what He thinks matters to me. Then the unrighteousness will be purged out of my heart.
The way the devil goes after your heart is through circumstances, through world system, through words, through what other’s say, arousing within you wrong emotions, negative emotions.
eph6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
The roman soldiers used to wear a breastplate that used to protect the whole breast or chest. It protects your vital organs, your heart! Not feeling condemned, guilty in the presence of God. A man that does not have His heart founded, persuaded in righteousness will always end up with a corrupt heart. That’s why it is so important for us through the gospel of Christ ~ being founded in the fact that you are right with God. You have to come to a place where you are so convinced in your heart that nothing is impossible to you. How much of us have that attitude when you pray?
We’ve developed faith for things. Faith for things (for ex. healing): Healed and lose it. Devil attacks your right-standing before God, and every-time you doubt you’ll lose it. Because righteousness is the foundation on which you receive things. Not that you doubt the promises, but because you doubt your right-standing with God. Or you doubt that you are worthy. You believing God for healing, finances, etc., but then you do something that is not so nice. Now the devil says: You believed God.. and look how good God was and He gave you and now you do this. And guilt comes in and you lose the promise.
rom1:15 So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
NIV 16I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,c just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”d
2 cor5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;
God making friends with the world. Not holding their trespasses against them. That does something in your heart. It’s called the purging. We have all sinned (rom3:23). When Jesus came He said I’m not going to hold their trespasses against them. That makes a love dwell up in your heart for God. It’s the purging. If you expose yourself to that. Read them every now and then and allow them to yourself. Most of us loved that first love for the Lord. A weeping in the presence of the Lord. It’s a cleansing. Get yourself founded in righteousness.
prov26:6 Eat thou not the bread of him that hath an evil eye, neither desire thou his dainty meats:
Just by hearing what they say and how they act, you can see what’s in the heart. Out of the heart you’ll act and speak. Through rejection an emotional stress: I don’t need anybody .. or other side: smother any attention they’ll get. That’s reacting out of their heart.
prov26:7 For as he thinketh[*shaar] in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
The way you think in your heart. The way you think about yourself in your heart, that’s how you are. The word thinks comes from doorkeeper.
*shaar: shaar: to calculate, recko; denominative from sha’ar: door, gate, gatekeeper, gateway
The thoughts you think and believing your heart is a doorkeeper to your heart. The way you think is the doorkeeper of your heart. What you believe is what causes to live long or die. What you spend your time thinking about is going to protect your heart or corrupt your heart. What you think about is going to be the doorkeeper of your heart.
2 cor 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Praise and worship is a powerful tool to stop wrong thoughts! Sexual sins will cause your thought-life to go out of control. The only way to get out of it was to realize righteousness. It isn’t you. God has declared you not guilty. Praise and worship, memorizing the word of God. The word of God is one of the most powerful ways to protect your heart. Memorizing. Allowing your mind to meditate on the word of God. You must get founded in righteousness and control your thought-life. Speak the word of God. Confess the word of God over your life. Protecting your heart.
Peace:
phil4: 4 Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing
Worry is one of the first things that will corrupt your heart. If you allow yourself to worry then it will corrupt your heart.
but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Worry lets your mind start to think upon the things that will happen if this particular thing doesn’t work out. 2 cor 5 - don’t allow those thoughts to come in. Bring them into subjection under the obedience of Christ - his redemptive work. Every thought you think, submit it to the redemption work of Jesus Christ. If it fits think it, if it doesn’t throw it out. Does it line up with the redemptive work Jesus did? If it doesn’t throw it out. You must take your thoughts through the redemptive work of Christ. Start with thanksgiving. Thank You Lord that you protect my children, that you protect me (ps91) and I’m under the wings of the Lord. And you make your request known unto the Lord, and the peace of God shall keep your heart.
phil4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
prov4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
If you don’t have a foundation of righteousness and you start to quote the scriptures of promises of God all of a sudden the devil will say: Maybe you didn’t pray enough this morning, haven’t read the bible for two days.. And the foundation falls away. The promises of God become nothing to you because the foundation of righteousness is not there. If you have no foundation of righteousness you have no peace. The peace of God can never come to you, because you never started in righteousness. You can claim these things because you are righteous! You are right with Him and right in His presence.
prov22:21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
Start to get to know God! And there’ll be peace in your life. Don’t get to know God the other people think He is, get to know God. Who He really is.
isa53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him
rom5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
If your heart is not persuaded of righteousness you can’t have peace.
col1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross
col3:12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
prov4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Take the word of God, attend to it, keep them in the midst of your heart. It’ll protect your heart and be health to your flesh. It is as simple as that.
Allow God’s word to show you who God really is. Reveal Himself to you. It will purge you. Change your motivation for life. Your thoughts are the doorkeeper of your heart. What you spend your time thinking upon. Without righteousness we can forget all these other things, it’s not going to work. Righteousness is the foundation.
Foundational scriptures of this teaching:
prov4:20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 23 Keep[guard] thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
prov2:1 My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; 2 So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding; 4 If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. 7 He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints. 9 Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.10 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: 12 To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; 13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; 14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; 15 Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths: 16 To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; 17 Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
mat12:33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. 34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
mark7:14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. 18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him; 19 Because it entereth not into his heart, but into the belly, and goeth out into the draught, purging all meats? 20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. 21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, 22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: 23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.mat15:10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: 11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. 12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? 13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. 14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. 15 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this parable. 16 And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? 17 Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught? 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.
1 kings 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
prov4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
jam2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 11 For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12 So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
13 For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
rom3: 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. 20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus

1tes 3:11 Now God himself and our Father, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way unto you. 12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 13 To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints1 tes 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I want to suggest to you that the keys of the kingdom, or one of the keys at least, one of the keys of the kingdom of heaven are the principles that I’ve called the principles of meaningful intimate relationship. Oh, It’s amazing how that we want the stuff, but we want to do it without having relationship. There is no doubt in my mind, that God made men for relationships. The thing is that for most of us in the area of our relationship is the source of the greatest pain and disappointment in our lives. But relationship is all that counts in life. This is the real stuff of life.
